12 December 2005 We have received our latest shipment of games just in time for Christmas. Descent: Journeys in Dark and the Citadels Expansion are 2 new games that we have received.
The Runebound Expansions, including Isle of Dread have just been released and we will be receiving stock of this next week. World of Warcraft: The Board Game will also be arriving next week.

7 November 2005 World of Warcraft has been a phenomenon worldwide with over 3 million players signed up. We are very excited to let you know that Fantasy Flight Games will be releasing the Official World of Warcraft Board Game in December this year. 7 November 2005 Our new shipment has just arrived which included Runebound 2nd Edition. This is very exciting as we know that there are many of you that have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this.
20 September 2005 We have just added 2 more stores to our family. We would like to extend a warm welcome to Quantum Books & Games in Rustenburg and 7th Generation in Honeydew, Johannesburg to our growing family. More details on them and our other retailers are available here.

24 August 2005 We have just come off a hectic 2 months, where we exhibited at ICON and SARCDA. Thanks to all our loyal customers who we were able to meet and show some of our new products to.
We have just added 4 additional games to our selection. These are Carcassonne: Hunters & Gatherers, Carcassonne: The Castle, Lost Cities and Betrayal at House on the Hill. We hope that you will enjoy these new additions.
We also have a new shipment arriving in 2 weeks time and we have new games like Arkham Horror, Shadows over Camelot, Carcassonne: Princess & Dragon and Risk: Star Wars that you can look forward to.
24 August 2005 We are now preparing for the RAGE expo taking place at the Coca-Cola Dome, Northgate from the 30th September to 2nd October. We are very excited to be able to support this great event run by NAG, who review our games on a regular basis.

30 June 2005 After a hiatus, our newsletter is back and will now become a bi-weekly publication. The newsletter is available here. We will be announcing our prize winners in the next issue. As we have not had a newsletter for a while, we will be announcing 5 winners in our next newsletter. If you would to stand a chance of winning one of these prizes, please make sure that you are subscribed to our newsletter.
We also have a number of new games available, which we will be announcing over the next week. So, look out for this on our website.
25 April 2005 We are pleased to announce our first retailer in Cape Town. They are Experilab, in Century City. They are also carrying our full line of Powerball products. This is great news for all our Western Cape customers as they will now be able to view and buy our games from a shop in Cape Town.
11 April 2005 We have just received a new game, which will be known by all of you and for which we have got numerous requests for. We have now added Balderdash to our catalog for you to enjoy.
18 March 2005 We are very excited to announce that we have started distributing games for Pathway, a local manufacturer of quality board games. The products that we now have offer from Pathway are; Bird Whiz, a game to learn more about birds; Froth, a sports and trivia game; Revelations, a trivia game based on the bible; and Wildlife Heritage, a game where you learn more about wildlife.
We hope you will have many hours of fun with these new games.
7 March 2005 We have just finished with a very successful Hobby-X where we got a tremendous response from the public. Thanks to everyone that dropped by visited. It was great to be able to chat to so many of you out there.

21 February 2005 Greetings again board game fans! We hope that you are having lots of fun with your board games. Thank you to all our loyal customers for your continued support. We have been very busy over the last months with many activities. Some of these activities include preparing for Hobby-X next week, evaluating new games to bring to South Africa and signing up new retailers.
We have some exciting new games which will be landing in South Africa over the next 2 weeks. Some of these titles include Carcassonne: The City, Twilight Imperium III, EVO - The Last Gasp of the Dinosaurs, Struggle of Empires, Formula De, Bohnanza, Power Grid and Puerto Rico Expansion. 21 February 2005 boardgames.co.za is an operating division of The Next Step. We welcome the next member of The Next Step family in the form of powertoys.co.za. powertoys.co.za is the official South African distributors of Powerball: The Original. This is the first product that will be offered through this new division. powertoys.co.za have a line of Power Toys planned to be introduced over time.
21 February 2005 Preparations are well under way for Hobby-X, taking place next week at the Coca Cola Dome at Northgate in Johannesburg. We are extremely excited about this event as we will be exhibiting with IQ-X, who produce the Money Skills board game. Powerball which is available through The Next Step's http://www.powertoys.co.za division will also be exhibited.
21 February 2005 We are happy to announce that we have started a new distributor relationship with Cafe Games. Cafe Games represents several of the leading European board game companies including Warfrog Games, Pro Ludo and Eurogames. We have some of their games arriving in our next shipment.
21 February 2005 We would also like to welcome the following retailers to our growing family. SMITHinn at the Clearwater Mall and Emerald Casino Resort in Vanderbijlpark.
10 January 2005 We have finally received our shipment of games announced below. This includes the eagerly anticipated Doom: The Board Game. One player takes on the role of the monsters and the remainder are the marines. Game play is often tense and exciting as the marines explore new areas and new monsters are revealed.

7 January 2005 Happy new year to you! The year has got off to a flying start with Chief Kid, Fabio Salvador being interviewed by 702 for an hour today. For those of you who listened to the interview, we hope that you found it informative and fun. Fabio spoke about some of our games such as Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, The Transformation Game, Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation, Settlers of Catan, Bang! Card Game, Doom and Money Skills.

Ticket to Ride
"Strategy titles are very popular on the PC, as we all know - but board game variants are also popular... look at titles like Risk and even chess for proof. However, most have very simple rules that cover the strategic side of things with very broad strokes. Not so with Memoir '44. This game has a rather hefty rule manual that covers just about any possible situation that can occur on the board, and includes several historically based World War 2 scenarios for you to choose from. It is intense and precise play, and the player needs to keep his wits about him to win the game. The entire thing is wonderfully finished, with detailed playing pieces, clear cards and a sturdy feel. If you enjoy your board games a little more cerebral than just moving around a track buying streets, this is one for you to consider."

17 November 2004 We are very excited to welcome Outer Limits as our latest retail partner! They are offering a wide selection of our games, which will be available from their Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town stores.
We are also working together with them around some exciting events for you and will keep you posted as the discussions progress.
15 November 2004 We have just introduced 2 retailer stores to our family. These are Eco Kids and the Parkmore Centre for Holistic Medicine. Eco Kids is located in Lonehill and specialises in Children's toys. The Parkmore Centre for Holistic Medicine is stocking the Transformation Game for those of you that want to learn more about yourself. We welcome both these outlets to our family!

9 November 2004 We have some exciting news for those of you in Johannesburg. We have just signed up Village Craft Market in Douglasdale as a new retailer. They will be offering a wide range of our products from their store in the Douglasdale Village shopping Center in Douglasdale on the corner of Douglas Drive and Leslie Road.
We have also expanded the range of games that are available from Lilliputs Toys in Rosebank.
There are also a number of new retailers that we will be announcing in the near future so keep visiting our web site for more details.

"Just like computer games, board games are starting to cross genre boundaries with gay abandon. Once a quest space has been reached, the game turns into something of a card game. These cards are used to determine if the player is successful or not. Beating a quest will result in character growth, as well as treasure rewards. And so the game progresses until one player becomes the ultimate hero of the lands. Runebound is an incredibly interesting game in terms of concept, and is great fun to play. The random element brought into the game through the use of cards keeps things interesting, and the experience induced growth of characters makes the game exciting throughout the play time. This is a great board game for those who want to try something different, and who enjoy the prospect of adventures and hidden treasures within their games."

game reviewers. The award is a critics award and is intended to further

the award is composed solely of professional game journalists. These
journalists have proven their competence and professional judgement

Thanks for all your support at RAGE this past weekend and a big thank you to NAG for organising a great event! It was really awesome meeting all of you and getting your really helpful feedback.
