be able to meet so many of our customers face to face and to demo our
new board games to you. ICON is the premier gaming event in South Africa
(including collectible card games, roleplaying and wargaming). ICON
started from humble beginnings twelve years ago. Thank you to all of you
that stopped by and visited the boardgames crew, and discussed what you
would like to see and and see what we had on offer. We hope that you had
as much fun as us at the event!

From
concept to reality
Here at boardgames.co.za we often get
queries with regards to the publication of boardgames. South Africans
are as always proving to be as creative and innovative as others in
the rest of the world when it comes to ideas and realisations of
boardgames. We have already started to carry a small but growing
range of South African boardgames, such as Money Skills and Bird Whiz.
The boardgames crew like to assist where they can, though it must be
realised that taking a boardgame from a concept to a marketable product
is a long and sometimes arduous process.
For more information take a look at this
in depth article on boardgame
design and implementation, where the processes behind taking a boardgame
from an idea to actual implementation are explained in detail.
Who knows, maybe the next Reiner Knizia or Richard Borg is right here in
South Africa, just waiting to be uncovered!
